CyberAct

Blue Team / Defence

Strengthen your Blue Team with real defensive exercises

The Blue Team is your company's first line of defence. CyberAct gives them access to realistic exercises: attack detection on simulated environments, enriched log analysis, incident response and Purple Team exercises to learn offensive techniques without switching roles. Strengthening your Blue Team with real defensive exercises that mirror live attacks, rather than static scenarios, builds the reflexes a real SOC actually needs.

The challenges of your role

1

Defenders lack exposure to real attack techniques (MITRE ATT&CK)

2

Incident response exercises are expensive to run in real conditions

3

Log analysis without context is a hard skill to acquire without practice

4

Blue Teams are often less valued and less trained than Red Teams

5

Measuring defensive effectiveness before a real incident is nearly impossible

How CyberAct meets your needs

Defensive labs on simulated incidents

Detect ongoing attacks in isolated environments. Analyse traces, identify the attacker and contain the threat.

MITRE ATT&CK coverage

Labs organised by ATT&CK tactic and technique. Measure which techniques your team can detect and defend against.

Purple Team exercises

Combine offensive and defensive modules: your analysts learn how attackers operate to better detect them.

Structured progression pathways

From basic triage to advanced forensic analysis — each analyst follows a pathway adapted to their level and specialty.

Frequently asked questions

How does CyberAct train a Blue Team against a real attack?

Exercises pit the Blue Team against simulated intrusion scenarios (lateral movement, persistence, exfiltration) on real vulnerable environments, where teams must detect, contain and remediate under conditions close to a real incident.

Can we run a Purple Team exercise with an internal Red Team?

Yes, CyberAct supports structuring Purple Team exercises where the Red Team attacks an environment while the Blue Team detects and documents, with a joint debrief to identify detection blind spots.

Do the Blue Team labs cover Active Directory detection?

Yes, several scenarios specifically focus on detecting Active Directory abuse (Kerberoasting, Pass-the-Hash, lateral movement), a very common attack surface defensive teams must learn to spot.

How is the team's detection and response time measured?

Each timed scenario measures the delay between the start of the simulated attack and its actual detection by the analyst, an MTTD indicator directly usable to track the team's progress over time.

Do these exercises replace a real managed SOC?

No, CyberAct is a training and upskilling tool, not a managed detection service. It prepares your internal teams to be more effective, whether you run an in-house or outsourced SOC.

Do we need specific detection tools already installed to follow these labs?

No, lab environments provide their own detection and visualization tools. Your analysts learn the detection methodology, which then transfers to the tools actually used in your SOC.
